The seed

The Danish city, Jelling, was the seat of the first Danish king, Gorm the Old (900-950). My great grandmother lived there her whole life. I grew up close by so my grandmother and I went to visit weekends. The Vikings travel patterns and trade brought parts Celtic culture to the Easter part of Denmark. Gorm the Old’s grave was marked by a large ornate boulder decorated in Mammen style. This boulder was the seed that later made me fall in love with celtic culture.
